Holiday Festival of Lights

Featuring over 700 displays and 2 million lights, the Holiday Festival of Lights is a cherished holiday tradition for many families throughout Charleston and beyond. From November 10 – January 1, James Island County Park comes alive with illumination, and is a great place to capture the magic of the holiday season. Admission. Nights of a Thousand Candles

See Brookgreen Gardens come to life amid the soft glow of more than 6,000 hand-lit candles and countless sparkling lights. Walk the paths with a warm cup of cider, hear the sound of holiday music, and celebrate the season with family and friends. The 80-foot-tall fir tree decorated with 100,000 lights will be lighted in ceremonial fashion at 5:45pm every night.
Admission for adults and older children. All children age 3 and under are free. Open November 30, December 1-2, December 7-9, and December 14-17, 2017 from 3-10pm

24th Annual Roper Mountain Holiday Lights

Are you ready for lights, stars, and Santa? Visit Roper Mountain Holiday Lights! 2017 marks the 26th year of this great event, which has become an upstate tradition for many families. Start your visit by parking the car and strolling through Winter Wonderland, where you will find lighted walking trails, Santa Claus, a 24 foot tall Trampoline Ginger Bread Man, a balloon artist, concessions, and giant holiday greeting cards created by local area students. On selected nights, they’ll also have some of your favorite team mascots and performances by school groups. From there, continue on to the 1.5 mile drive through the large displays including Candy Cane Lane, Santa’s Sleigh, the Caterpillar, and many other family favorites!

Fantasy of Lights

Holiday cheer arrives in Sumter with the opening of the annual Swan Lake Fantasy of Lights. Be amazed as the sun goes down and the gardens come alive with breathtaking light displays symbolizing the holiday season as well as seeing some of our favorite cartoon characters! Among others Blues Clues, Barney, Bob the Builder, Sponge Bob, Dora the Explorer and many more! For the entire month of December, the gardens come alive with a display of twinkling holiday imagery created by more than one million lights. The floating Christmas tree has been is an annual favorite for over 35 years, along with Santa, angels and other characters. Enjoy holiday entertainment, refreshments, photos with Santa and more at Santa’s Village! Bring your letters for Santa – the Santa Express will be there to send them straight to the North Pole! ICRC – Holiday Lights on the River

Holiday Lights on the River at Saluda Shoals Park is the largest drive-through lights show in the Midlands! This dazzling light show will feature over 400 animated displays. Experience the magic as Saluda Shoals Park comes alive in a blaze of more than a million sparkling lights. Create lasting family memories this year at Holiday Lights on the River, with Holiday Lights Activities Every Night (except Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas) including Hayrides, Saluda Shoals train, laser light show, tube slide, crafts, Santa’s Claus’et Gift Shop, marshmallow roasting, and visits and photos with Santa (Dec. 8-23). Christmas in Hopelands

The 26th Annual Christmas in Hopelands is an enchanting walk-through exhibit that features over 2 miles of lighted pathways and holiday displays! There is no admission charge. Over 100,000 twinkling lights are a must-see during the Christmas season. Santa or Mrs. Claus will be inside the Rye Patch for photos.

Elgin Lights

Paul and Sarah Towns invite everyone to come out to their farm to see this old-fashioned Christmas light display in Elgin, now in its 20th year! See hundreds of antique tractors including a 1909 working steam engine, miniature trains and memorabilia and forty thousand lights. Families are invited to get out of their cars and walk around and/or take a hayride through the woods. Working blacksmith. Take pictures on 1939 John Deere tractor and Christmas-themed photo props. Lights Before Christmas

Bring the kids and the camera and see why Lights Before Christmas has continued as a family tradition for 30 years! Christmas in Downtown Newberry

Celebrate the start of the season with lights! Downtown you’ll find lighted garland and bows and see an array of lit figures, Memorial Park is decorated with wreaths and bows and lighted Christmas trees, and the Community Christmas Tree is covered in thousands of colorful bulbs, strung with garland, and surrounded by large presents. Faux snow will fall in Memorial Park on special “North Pole Nights”, and additional events include Main Street Lights, with a Community Christmas Tree Lighting, Christmas Vendors, and Caroling, Santa’s Tour of Newberry, an Official Gingerbread House Competition, the Newberry Jaycee’s Christmas Parade, Tuba Christmas, Christmas Tour of Homes, Christmas Shows at the Newberry Opera House and more.
